The Beauty Queen of Leenane will be performed by the Cape Rep theatre in Brewster through June 5th. The Beauty Queen of Leenane is a 1996 black comedy by Irish playwright Martin McDonagh premiered in Galway Ireland. It also enjoyed successful runs at London’s West End, and Broadway, and off-Broadway theatres in New York.
The comedy play is a about a 40 year-old Maureen and her mother, Mag live in a small house in County Galway, Ireland. Their daily sparring for household dominance escalates into an impressive, cunning battle of wits when Pato Dooley arrives and offers Maureen love and a promising new life
