Day 41 Sand Sculpting festival at Mashpee Commons

Want to enjoy the sand but not the beach this weekend, then the head to the Mashpee Commons shopping area.  The  3rd Annual Mashpee Sand Sculpting Festival and The New England Sand Sculpting Invitational 2011, July 8 through July 10 at Mashpee Commons. Master Sculptor Sean Fitzpatrick will transform part of Mashpee Commons into a tropical beach   with fun for the whole family.   There will be amateur & professional sand sculpting competitions, a kids play area,  music, food,  & more!

Friday July 8, 2011

9:00 – 5:00pm: Sand “Pound Up” begins. 25 tons of special sand will be packed into forms in preparation for carving
11:00 – 5:00pm: Try Aloha Jacks’ hot dogs & shaved ice, Kelly’s temporary Airbrush Tattoos, Register to win great giveaways
Noon – 2:00pm: Live music by Mike Hennessey
3:00pm: Live music by Nicholas James Band

9:00 – 5:00pm: Ready, Set, Sculpt! Watch Master Sand Sculptor Sean Fitzpatrick sculpt 25 tons of sand into a magical scene right before your eyes
10:00 – 5:00pm: Kids sand area is OPEN to play
11:00 – 5:00pm: Try Aloha Jack’s hot dogs & shaved ice, Kelly’s temporary Airbrush Tattoos, Register to win great giveaways
Noon – 1:00pm: Live music by the bank  Hyannis Sound

1:00pm: Family & Amateur Sand Sculpting contest begins – Sign ups are first come, first serve (Sign ups begin at 9:00am)
