Day 109 New Years Eve celebration at First Night Chatham MA

Are you looking to celebrate New Year eve on Cape Cod in family friendly environment! First Night Chatham is a family friendly, alcohol free New Year’s Eve celebration focused on the arts being held on Saturday December 31st.   First Night Chatham has become a wonderful way for people to come together and ring in the New Year in a safe, festive atmosphere. Centered on Main Street, First Night Chatham offers something for everyone – a circus, musicians, local artists, theater, opera, a giant bonfire, a clamorous noise parade, the Countdown Cod Drop, and a fantastic fireworks finale! You will need to purchase a first night button  Kids 3-10 are $5.00 and adults  age 11 up are $18.00

First Night Chatham entertainment includes 70+ musicians, vocalists, clowns, well…artisans of every type to entertain and serenade!  One of  the highlights include Siobhan Magnus** Come and enjoy this American Idol finalist, Siobhan Magnus, as she rocks the house with her edgy and unique style of music…. even some original music. Chatham (High School Auditorium 9 pm and 10:15 pm) .

 

First night for teens  8-11:30 button free event  at the Chatham elementary.  Just dance, poker tournament

 

There is a whole day of kids events including some of the leading children’s performers starting at noon time

Highlights

Rick Goldin’s Puppets and Family Fun
Rick, puppeteer, is known for his lively, interactive and humorous children’s songs. Children love his live performances because they get to sing, dance, and jump along with Rick and his singing animal puppets. (Community Center Meeting Room 4 and 5 pm)

 

Toe Jam PuppetsThe Toe Jam Puppet Band performances are very active, encouraging kids and parents to sing and dance along with the band as they entertain with a unique combination of original songs, masterful shadow puppetry, storytelling and just plain old good fun.
(Community Center meeting room 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm) 

Noise Parade
Gather at Main and Cross Streets, head down to the rotary, bring your choice of noise maker – pots and pans, whistles, castanets or your booming voice …. use your imagination. Everyone will make their way down to Oyster Pond to enjoy the bonfire.
