Day 215 Wellfleet Harborfest and Nautical Flea Market 2013

The third annual Wellfleet HarborFest and Nautical Flea Market will kick-off another summer season on  Saturday June 1st 2013  9am-4pm.    It showcase all that Wellfleet has to offer as a waterfront Cape Cod  community! This rain or shine  family friendly event will be held on the east end of the Wellfleet Town Pier and will celebrate the region’s unique seaside community. Harborfest is sponsored by Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank, Cape Cod Marine Trades Association,M.A. Frazier Enterprises, Seamen’s Bank, Shellfish Promotion and Tasting, and the Wellfleet Chamber of Commerce.

Exhibitors will include local artisans, boat builders, charter companies, theater and arts organizations, educational displays and more! In honor of Wellfleet’s Restaurant Week, food vendors will be serving unique offerings. Sea Clam will operate a raw bar, The Beachcomber will serve up fried seafood and chowder, Nauset Regional High School Culinary Arts Department will offer sweet treats, Pizza Barbone will serve wood-fired pizza cooked on-site and P-Town Parties will hold a clam boil featuring Wellfleet clams!

There will be lots to do for kids and adults. The Chequesset Yacht and Country Club and the Wellfleet Recreation Department will offer children’s activities. The Skateboard Park with be open for the season. Local boat builder Walter Baron and noted local Kayaking guide Dick Hilmer will lead a Row & Paddle Harbor Cruise at 3PM. Paddlers bring their own seaworthy craft and register at the Harborfest Welcome Booth before the row. Boats on trailers will be permitted to use the Town ramp and the donation for this special program is $10.

Entertainment will be featured throughout the day by local favorites Kami Lyle, Tadd Price, Sarah Swain, Chandler Travis Philharmonic Duo, Molly Paramenter, Sophie Craft and Frightened.

The Nautical Flea Market will include custom fishing lures, rods and reels small water craft including an Optimist Pram, a Sun Fish and a 13’ Boston Whaler! The Town of Wellfleet will hold its annual auction of surplus marine property at the event too.

There will be raffle drawings at 11am, 1pm and 3pm of exciting merchandise such as jewelry, artwork, restaurant and tour gift certificates and much, much more! Proceeds from the event are used to enhance the Wellfleet Harbor and Marina. In past years, this has included informational signs and brochures. At the event, Harborfest will make a $2000 contribution to the Wellfleet Marina Enterprise Fund to support further marina improvements. Support your community by attending Harborfest on June 1.
