Day 277 Cape Cod Train to Christmas Town 2013 in Buzzards Bay MA

The Train to Christmas town is a new experience on Cape Cod this year from the middle to November to the end of December.   The Christmas train departs from the Buzzards Bay depot and Chamber of Commerce. Classic passenger rail cars are decorated for the holidays. The Conductor will punch each passengers train ticket in a jolly fashion. Elves travel through the cars serving hot cocoa and cookies to everyone on the journey to Christmas Town. The book The Train to Christmas Town is read aloud and there’s lots and lots of fabulous music and fun. You’ll meet the woodland characters from the book including the famous Bumblebee the Polar Bear!  This is a whole new experience and different from years past Cape Cod Polar Express

Upon arrival to Christmas Town (passengers are not allowed off the train), Santa boards the train with some helper elves. He will make his way through the train cars making time to visit with each child as well as pose for photos for those that wish to take them. Continuing along the return journey, the elves lead passengers in the singing of happy holiday carols

Departures begin November 22 and run through the end of December on weekends

Diamond Class

First Class

Our First Class passengers are treated to cheery service I traditional railroad fashion while enjoying spacious seating in very special vintage railroad equipment. Get extraordinary views of the approaching Christmas Town as Santa and his elves greet the Train and all the passengers on board. An exclusive souvenir mug completes first class service served with a delicious cookie and a wink from Santa as he walks through the train greeting each child.

Standard Class

The heated and comfortably-arranged cars available in Standard Class will delight passengers looking for an economical yet authentic way to experience the Train to Christmas Town from start to finish. Chefs joyfully move down the aisles and serve cocoa and sweet, delicious cookies as festive holiday music plays. As the train rolls into Christmas Town, Santa boards with his elves in tow and visits with each child on board.
