Day 295 Sandwich Daffodil Festival 2014

With a backdrop of 10,000 daffodils blooming throughout Cape Cod’s oldest town, the 2014 Sandwich Daffodil Festival will be held on Saturday, April 26th at Oakcrest Cove Field! It will run from 10am to 4pm and feature separate tents for food, music, gardening, local artists sale and a Kids Zone.The family friendly  event is free to the public.
Folks will be treated to music, gardening events, local artists’ sales, and a kids’ activity area.  There will be Food  both local and from the New England Food Truck Association, will offer a variety of food offerings for both adult and kid tastes, for both breakfast and lunch fare. Sandwich’s own Marshland Restaurant will be serving its award-winning clam chowder and world-famous stuffed quahogs.

For the kids , they will have  have face painting and crafts. ‘Mad scientists’ will conjure up dry ice storms and mysterious floating beach balls. At noon there will be a presentation by Big Ryan’s Tall Tales with puppets, music and original stories. The chance to get close to animals will come in the afternoon with Thornton Burgess Society’s Critter Capers.”
Music will be almost continuous during the day beginning with the Daddy-O’s playing 1950’s style music. At noon, Steve Gregory and the Score Music All-Stars will entertain with singing, ukulele playing and other instruments. Right after that will be Jim Ellis on guitar and Steve Reznick on harmonica. Capping the musical offerings will be Funktapuss, a Hyannis-based touring machine of rockers that brings a party wherever they go.
