Day 335 Wareham Summer of Celebration 2014

In 2014, the town of Wareham, MA celebrates the 200th anniversary of its historic role in the War of 1812, and the 275th anniversary of its incorporation as a town.

The town was officially incorporated on July 10th in 1739 by legislative act and included South Wareham, Wareham Center, the Narrows and a portion of Rochester which is now West Wareham.  On August 6th of that year, the first Wareham town meeting was called.

Wareham and Onset Village now serve as a tourist destination and a “summer home” to many people from across the country and around the globe.
