Dennis Summerfest 2016

Dennis Summerfest will be held on Saturday August 20th  and Sunday August 21st  with lots of family friendly events.    There will be no fireworks scheduled. 

Here are the events schedule

Sat., 8/20—44th Swan River Canoe Race, Registration 11 AM; Race 12 Noon, 5 Lower County Rd., Dennisport. $25 per canoe (includes post race buffet/award ceremony). Sponsored by Swan River Seafood Restaurant – to benefit Hope Hospice. Rain or Shine. 508-394-4466.
Sat., 8/20—Colonial Open House @ the Josiah Dennis Manse, 10 AM-4 PM, 77 Nobscussett Rd., Dennis. Walk through gardens. Refreshments will be served.
Sun., 8/21 6:30-10 AM. The Sand Sculpture Contest has become a tradition in Dennis during the summer festivities. The Recreation/Beach Dept. have been organizing this event for many years. Our group has participated in getting prizes and acting as judges for the different age categories of artists. The event is held at the Mayflower Beach in Dennis. Registration is at 6:30AM. Yes, that’s AM. The artists have to check in, receive their stake with their name, category, etc. and find a spot to create their masterpiece. Everything has to be completed by the time the tide rolls in. Prizes will be given for each category.
Sun., 8/21—ARTS, CRAFTS & LOCAL VENDORS, 10 AM-4 PM, LOCATION: at Nathaniel H. Wixon Innovation School, 901 Route 134, in South Dennis. Artists, Crafters, Local Vendors, and Food Vendors (Hot Dogs; hamburgers; Ice Cream; Drinks, and more), Children�s Root Beer Races, Park in lower lot. Cee Cee the Clown will arrive with the antique cars at 1PM.
Sun., 8/21—58th ANTIQUE CAR MOTORCADE and DISPLAY, Starts at West Dennis Beach at 12 Noon, travels to Lower County Rd., to Old Wharf Rd, to Chase Ave., to Belmont, to Division, across Rte. 28, then travels on Upper County Rd., crossing Rte. 134, to Liberty Hall, then right on Old Main St. to Old Chatham Rd. to Route 134 and into the Nathaniel H. Wixon Middle School in South Dennis where cars will be on display (approx. 1-3PM). (Pre-register cars with Penny Bach, Motorcade Chairman, 508-760-4524, and receive a Beach Pass)
Sun., 8/21—White Elephant Sale 10 AM-12 Noon & Lawn Party, 12 Noon – 2 PM, Liberty Hall, S. Dennis.
