Chatham History weekend will be held Friday, June 16, 2017 to Sunday, June 18, 2017.

Chatham History Weekend 2017

During History Weekend, most Historic Chatham museums and history centers will be open (at different times and days), with free admission.

Atwood House & Museum The Atwood House will be open with free admission and new exhibits from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, on Friday, June 16th, and Saturday, June 17. On Sunday, June 18th, at 2 PM, the At The Atwood Lecture Series will present “The Winged Cell Phone of Yesteryear”. Also on Sunday at 4PM, the Chatham Historical Society will hold a benefit “Voyage to the Colonies” Concert. See full details below.
Eldredge Public Library The Library will be open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Friday and Saturday, June 16th and 17th. A special History Weekend program will be presented on Tuesday evening, June 13th at 7 pm. See full details below.
Marconi-RCA Wireless Museum The museum of the Chatham Marconi Maritime Center will be open with free admission and new exhibits from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm, on Friday, June 16th, and Saturday, June 17, and from 1 to 4 pm on Sunday, June 18th. This season’s new special exhibit for 2017, “Breaking Barriers: The Women Air Force Service Pilots of WWII”, and updated exhibits will be on display across both buildings and the outdoor Antenna Field Trail. Caleb Nickerson Homestead The Caleb Nickerson Homestead will be open on Saturday, June 17th from 10 AM to 4 PM, with an archaeological dig and talk, plus tours and demonstrations. See details below.
Godfrey Windmill The Godfrey Windmill will be open for History Weekend on Saturday, June 17th from 11 AM to 3 PM, with hourly programs. Weather permitting, the sails will be up and the mill will be grinding corn. See details below.
Chatham Lighthouse The Chatham Lighthouse will be open for tours on Saturday, June 17, and Sunday, June 18, from 1:00 – 3:30 PM on both days, as part of Chatham History Weekend. It will also be open for tours in June as part of its regular Wednesday afternoon schedule, on June 7th and June 21st, from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM.
Chatham Railroad Museum The Railroad Museum will be open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Friday and Saturday, June 16th and 17th.
Mayo House The Mayo House will be not be open this year on History Weekend due to ongoing restoration and repair work.
Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge The Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center will be open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturday, and Sunday, June 17th and 18th. A special Monomoy Point Lighthouse Tour will be conducted on Sunday from 9AM to 1 PM. See details below.
Chatham Walks There will be a special free “Walking Tour” on Saturday, June 17th, at 3 PM, starting at the Chatham Community Center. See details below.
Historic House Signs Learn how to research the history of your home, and be eligible to display an Historic House Sign. See details below.
