Cape Cod Canal Concerts 2017 in Buzzard Bay MA

The Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce has scheduled another exciting year for the popular “Eastern Bank Concerts by the Canal” series. The 2017 concerts are held at  Bourne Community Serues  each Thursday evening during July and August from 6:30 p.m – 8:30 p.m., right along the banks of the Canal near the base of the Bourne Railroad Bridge.

New this year, we will be holding a Holiday Scavenger Hunt throughout the season. Game cards can be found on the reverse side of our holiday events calendar, which will be located at all of the businesses. Winners will receive a $25 Mashpee Commons gift card and will be entered into a raffle to win a $500 Mashpee Commons gift card! More details can be found on the game cards.

As always, the Commons will be festively decorated this holiday season and we will be lighting our twenty-foot holiday tree on November 25th at dusk. We will also have extended shopping hours in place for your convenience. Shops will be open Monday through Saturday 10am-8pm and Sunday 11am-5pm, November 25th through December 23rd.

Day 228 Cranberry Blossom Festival 2013 in Wareham MA

The Cranberry Blossom Festival will be held on Saturday, June 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the A.D. Makepeace Company headquarters in Tihonet Village in Wareham MA  

The tour is a unique opportunity for locals and visitors to view the beauty of the bogs in one of the most picturesque and important times of year. This agricultural experience covers the history of cranberry growing, the importance of pollination, the growing needs for each season, and allows for plenty of photographs, questions and answers. Guests will be transported to the cranberry bogs by bus, therefore, seating is limited. The one-hour tours will take place at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Limited walking is required. The fee is $5 per person, children under 7 free.

Other activities will be offered in Tihonet Village, a self-guided nature walk, a selection of vendors, live entertainment and a cranberry-apple pie eating contest sponsored by Makepeace Farms. Children will enjoy old fashioned games such as a hay bale maze, paddle boat rides and face painting are also offered for a nominal fee.

The annual “Make it Better with Cranberries” cookbook release ceremony will take place at noon in Box Mill Hall. The ceremony celebrates the winning recipes from the 2012 cooking contest featured in the 2013 cookbook. The publishers, Yolanda and Edward Lodi from Rock Village Publishing, will introduce each recipe and author. A small sampling of select recipes will be featured.

Makepeace Farms in Tihonet Village will be open and offering a fine selection of cranberry products, fresh baked goods, lunch specials, unique New England inspired goods and $1 ice cream cones. Makepeace Farms’ Produce Wagon will be introduced with a selection of seasonal local produce and cranberry plants for your home.

Day 226 Yarmouth Summer Celebration Kick-Off 2013

Join us in June as we kick off summer in Yarmouth!

Over a week of fun events for the whole family, the Third Annual Yarmouth Summer Celebration Kick-Off is set to “kick-off” on Friday, June 21st with the preview of some 36 two and a half ton commissioned sand sculptures! The event, which spans eight full days leading into the July 4th holiday, encompasses a wide spectrum of fabulous family entertainment to celebrate the arrival of summer, including the sand sculpting, kite fun, fishing derby, ice cream social, nature strolls, sailing regatta, summer beach barbeque, Y-D Red Sox Cape League baseball games, a sea captains and pirates adventure, and fireworks finale. Both the young and the young-at-heart will find plenty to enjoy over the week

The fireworks are scheduled at dusk at Falmouth Heights Beach (approximately 8:45 p.m). Spectators are asked to bring a radio and to set it to 92.7,WMVY, in order to hear the music that accompanies the show.
