Haunted Houses and Halloween events Cape Cod 2017

Halloween will be here before you know it! Here are some haunted houses and not some not so scary haunted happening that will be happening on Cape Cod!

Saturday October 14th

YMCA fall festival 

Join YMCA Cape Cod for some family fun including crafts, games, healthy snacks, pumpkin carving and so much more! Come dressed in your Halloween costume and get a free spin on our special prize wheel!  $5 per person | $20 per family

Friday October 27th

Brewster Ladies Library Halloween Parade 10am 

Come celebrate Halloween at the Brewster Ladies’ Library! All ages are invited. Wear your costume! We will have a Halloween parade, walk over to the Brewster Store, stop for songs with Cathy Hatch, and then head to Kinlin Grover Real Estate for snacks.This event will take place on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Brewster Ladies’ Library. Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend.

Trunk or Treat  First Congregational Church of Yarmouth 5pm

Join us for our 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat located in our upper parking lot. Additional parking in our lower parking lot and across the street behind the fire dept. building. Safe street crossing will be assisted by lit up trucks and traffic cones.Come trick or treat, or come to set up your own trunk beginning at 4pm. Please avoid scary costumes, as we are encouraging even the youngest of trick-or-treaters!!!

Saturday October 28th

Cape Cod Museum of Natural History Green Halloween 

Wear a costume and join the FUN at the annual CCMNH and Brewster Chamber of Commerce GREEN HALLOWEEN event!  New this year: The Local Scoop Pop Mobile, plus The Pirate’s Hideaway, Agway Maze, Crafts, Games, Treats!  $5 Children (3 -16: must be accompanied by an adult) Adults with Children are FREE!

Brewster Baptist Church Trunk or Treat 1230pm

We will be having a fun Trunk or Treat afternoon at Brewster Baptist Church and Northside United Methodist Church. Anyone is welcome!! We will have decorated trunks, music, petting zoo, hot chocolate and coffee. We hope to see you there!

 

Halloween Family Festival @ Around the gardens Sandwich MA 

There will be lots of Halloween-themed activities throughout the evening, including:

Yarmouth Seaside Festival Columbus Day Weekend 2017

The 39th  annual Yarmouth Seaside Festival will be held on Columbus Day weekend Saturday, October 7through Monday, October 9th . Festival events take place all over Yarmouth, but most are held at .Joshua Sears Memorial Field There will be a craft fair, road race, parade, canoe race, sand sculpting, fireworks and lots of fun, games, rides, food and entertainment.

AD Makepeace Cranberry Harvest Celebration 2017 in Wareham MA

The  14th annual AD Makepeace Cranberry Harvest Celebration will be held on Columbus Day weekend Saturday October 7th and Sunday October 8th  10-4pm! It is a great family friendly event!  Rain or shine event AD Makepeace Cranberry Harvest Celebration 2017 in Wareham MA

The Cranberry Harvest Celebration is a great way to see and learn about the picturesque cranberry harvest while enjoying some old fashioned family fun. Watch as we harvest the crimson berries continuously each day. Visit educational and historical displays, view the spectacular landscape and harvest by taking a helicopter ride, enjoy live cooking demonstrations by some of the area’s finest chefs and culinary professionals, shop the marketplace with over 40 juried exhibitors from around the region, listen to local musicians, and peruse the farmers’ market and food concession areas for the best fare around. Returning this year, you can put on a pair of waders and stand in a bog full of cranberries! Children’s activities include pony, paddle boat, train, live entertainment, wagon rides and much more.

Visitors to the Harvest Celebration, which is co-sponsored by the Cape Cod Cranberry Growers’ and Ocean Spray, are treated to demonstrations of the wet cranberry harvest, cooking demonstrations, an enormous tent full of juried crafters, paddleboat rides on scenic Tihonet Pond, food vendors, music, and more.

Admission is $10, $5 for seniors and military, and children under 7 are admitted free. Admission includes continuous viewing of our wet harvest operations, animal demonstrations, live music, cooking demonstrations, and many children’s activities. Some activities have fees and others are available by donation to the non-profit organizations that offer them. A portion of the admission fees go to local nonprofit organizations that help staff the event and to local food pantries. Parking and shuttle transportation are free. With the exception of service animals, pets and other animals are not allowed.

Harwich Cranberry Festival Beach Day 2017

The Harwich Cranberry Festival Beach Day for kids  is  Saturday  September 9, 2017 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm at Red River Beach in South Harwich MA.  Rain date is Sunday Sept 10th

Truro Agricultural Fair 2017

Truro Agricultural Fair 2017 will be held on Sunday September 3rd  from 10-3pm.  

The Truro Ag Fair showcases the Cape’s history, the foods currently grown and harvested, and connects the health of our local food system to our physical health, environment and future. Step back in time and appreciate all that the Cape has to offer: great food, great community and a gorgeous environment we all can support!

The fair is free and open to the public and includes harvest contests as well as pie-eating, pie-baking and barnyard beauty contests. BYO zucchini racecar for our 24’ long Zucchini 500 racetrack (judging starts at noon)! Fiddlers bands play all day; we offer old-fashioned kids games and art-making tables, turnip and rutabaga bowling and lots, lots more.

Onset Beach Kite Festival 2017

The  3rd  Annual Onset Beach Kite Festival will be held on Saturday September 2nd  10:00 am – 4:00 pm.Come fly a kite with us on beautiful Onset Beach.

Chalk-Full-O-Fun Onset Street Painting Festival 2017

The  4th  Annual Chalk-Full-O-Fun Onset Street Painting Festival will be heldon Sunday   August 27 @ 9am – 6:00 pm   Live music from Noon-4:00 Chalk-Full-O-Fun Onset Street Painting Festival 2017

Quickly becoming one of the favorite events of the Onset Bay Association  artists and budding artists alike come to Onset and spend the day creating their chalk art along the sidewalks surrounding The Bandshell. Spaces are assigned and pastel chalk provided. There will be live music with Bill Reidy from Noon-4, a juried arts and craft fair, a story walk for the kids courtesy of the Wareham Free Library and more!

Registration begins at 9:00. $5 to participate gets you a box of pastel chalks and a space on the sidewalk. People’s choice voting system, winners in several categories will be awarded various prizes! Fun for the whole family!

Closer pay parking is available on the town pier, 200 Onset Ave, and at the Temple Lot on Union Ave. Handicapped spots (6) available onsite and also at the Temple and Pier lots

Sandcastle Day at Onset Beach 2017

Join us for an afternoon of sand sculpting and beach going fun on Saturday, August 19th from 10-4 on Onset Beach.  

This event is geared towards children, but adults may also participate. Awards and prizes will be given to children only in different categories, TBD.

Our friend Rodney the Sandman will be on hand to express himself in sand sculpture and to help the children with theirs.
