18th Annual Quahog Day Celebration 2026 in Falmouth, Cape Cod
Celebrate the first day of summer at the 18th Annual Quahog Day Celebration on Saturday, June 20, 2026, in Falmouth, Massachusetts. One of Cape Cod’s most beloved summer traditions, Quahog Day brings locals and visitors together to hear Doug the Quahog’s famous prediction for the number of beach days ahead during the Summer of 2026.
The festivities begin at 1:00 PM at Shipwrecked, located overlooking beautiful Falmouth Heights Beach. During this family-friendly Cape Cod event, Doug the Quahog will emerge from his shell and reveal his highly anticipated summer forecast to Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce CEO Paul Niedzwiecki.
Serving as emcee for the 2026 celebration is Cape Cod native and WCVB EyeOpener co-anchor Doug Meehan, adding even more local pride to this iconic Cape Cod tradition.
Since its founding in 2009, Quahog Day has become a cherished annual event celebrating the arrival of summer on Cape Cod. Each year, Doug the Quahog predicts how many beach days residents and visitors can expect, making him Cape Cod’s answer to Groundhog Day. His prediction of 80 beach days for Summer 2025 proved remarkably accurate, building even more excitement for this year’s forecast.
