Magic&Beyond featuring Illusionist David Garrity
at PLAYHOUSE PALOOZA on Wednesday, July 9 – 9:30am-10:30am

Illusionist David Garrity presents “Magic&Beyond.” Written like a Pixar movie “Magic&Beyond” truly is an all-ages performances that adults will enjoy as well as children. It is a one-person illusion show that features unique, theatrical and visual magic and illusions, audience participation and clean comedy, all to a custom-edited musical soundtrack.

Highlights from the “Magic&Beyond” performance may include hilarious stunts of apparent mind-reading, an incredible illusion where a table mysteriously floats around the stage and out into the audience, “dangerous” stunts, a beautiful and artistic illusion involving ordinary Hula Hoops that perform extraordinary magic and a hilarious Houdini-style “Escape Challenge.”

Illusionist David Garrity uses visual magic and illusions combined with music, pantomime, situation comedy and audience participation to entertain audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

David’s “Magic&Beyond” show has recently been seen at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, NJ; National Theatre in Washington D.C.; and on an international tour of exclusive, all-inclusive resorts along the Riviera Maya in Mexico.

Tanglewood Marionettes
at PLAYHOUSE PALOOZA on
Wednesdays, July 16 & 23 and August 6, 13 & 20 – 9:30am – 10:30am

Each production is approximately 45 minutes in length, and includes a brief demonstration of the art of puppetry prior to the performance and a Question and Answer Session following. Through humorous interplay, the audience will learn about various forms of puppets, from the simple glove puppet to the sophisticated marionette. The programs are presented with the marionettists in full view, so that the audience can witness first-hand the mechanics of puppet manipulation. Replete with clever stage illusions and lighting effects, each show is an action-packed drama that is sure to delight audiences of all ages while introducing them to the magical world of puppet theater.

Johnny Peers & the Muttville Comix
at PLAYHOUSE PALOOZA on Wednesday, July 30 – 9:30am-10:30am
This show will be presented OUTSIDE on The Cape Playhouse Children’s Stage.

 

Johnny Peers and the Muttville Comix have appeared on Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Circus and on David Letterman!

Johnny Peers and the Muttville Comix is a slapstick comedy act like no other. Johnny leads over a dozen dogs through challenging and hilarious tricks as Johnny plays the straight man role in this wonderful show.

Johnny Peers and his personality-plus canines are coming to tickle your funny bone! A Ringling Brothers Clown College graduate, Johnny Peers has been working with dogs since he got his first puppy, Freckles, a Beagle mix, from the Humane Society. Since their debut, the Muttville Comix have appeared on David Letterman, Primetime Live and Circus of the Stars, and at Disneyland, Busch Gardens, the Big Apple Circus, the Royal Hanneford Circus, even The White House!

A show for the whole family and the dog lover in all of us, the show stars mostly dogs rescued from shelters or pounds, like Sandy, the ladder climbing Jack Russell Terrier and Girl, the Poodle mix who only answers to “Girl.” The 2003 Animal Planet Pet Star Winners, the Providence Journal-Bulletin calls the show, “…a truly funny, slapstick dog act.”

 

PLEASE NOTE: This show will be presented OUTSIDE on The Cape Playhouse Children’s Stage. Please plan accordingly with sunscreen, hats, blankets and low chairs (tall chairs will be asked to move to the back to not block the view of other patrons).
