Day 231 Barnstable County Fair 2013 in East Falmouth MA

The Barnstable County Fairgrounds is pleased to announce that the Barnstable County Fair and Carnival  is returning for its 169th season. Running Saturday, July 20 to Saturday, July 27 , the Fair and Carnival  returns with perennial favorites as well as several exciting new attractions. Four national musical acts, a special local talent showcase and three action-packed arena events are included in the evening schedules.  Gates open daily at noon (12:00 PM) and close at 10:00 PM.

The Spinners

Motown returns to the Fair with legendary soul group The Spinners on July 20! Their hits such as “Rubberband Man,” “I’ll be Around,” “Could it Be that I’m Falling in Love” and more have thrilled audiences and have influenced singers/songwriters for generations. It’s the first time in over 10 years that Motown has been at the Fair; don’t miss out on this chance to see some legends in concert!

The Lost Trailers

Up-and-coming country band The Lost Trailers brings their high-energy show to the Fairgrounds on Sunday, July 21. Their recent hits “Holler Back” and “How ‘Bout You Don’t” are country-radio favorites, and their new hit “American Beauty” is currently on the country charts. Singer-songwriter Stokes Nielsen gave Willie Nelson a demo CD in 2000, starting the band’s rise to stardom in the country world. They’ve toured with Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw and some of the biggest acts in the nation. Be sure to be there on Sunday night!Watch the Video!

Team Extreme / FMX MotoCross

Team Extreme FMX/Motocross returns to the Fair on MONDAY, July 22nd! Always a fan favorite, these high-flying athletes perform daring and acrobatic tricks in the night sky above the Fair’s arena. Riders from around the country participate in this event at the Fairgrounds. This is a judged competition, with the winning rider receiving points towards their national ranking and a cash prize. Riders will be available for a meet and greet after the race, so stick around!

Monster Truck Crush

Come watch as nationally ranked monster trucks Bounty Hunter, Illuminator and Iron Outlaw bring the steel crushing, ear-splitting fun to the Fair’s arena! It’s the only place to catch monster trucks on Cape Cod so if you miss them here, you’re out of luck. Remember, the show goes on rain or shine!

Demolition Derby

The Demo Derby pits neighbor against neighbor in a twisted metal slugfest until the last man and machine are standing! Always one of the most popular events at the Fair, the demolition derby is unscripted, old-fashioned Fair entertainment. Local radio personalities from Qantum Communications will be providing the play-by-play and color commentary. If you want to participate in the derby, entries are accepted until an hour before it starts.

Cape Cod Summer Star Presented By 106 WCOD

Now in its fourth year, the Cape Cod Summer Star event showcases the best amateur talent from Cape Cod and all of New England on the Fair’s Main Stage! Talented singers compete for a $1,000 cash prize and the chance to be named Cape Cod’s Summer Star. Last year, American Idol hopeful Angie Miller was a runner up. This night attracts some serious talent so settle in for a night of great music.

Tommy James and the Shondells

Widely known for their hits “Mony Mony,” “Crimson and Clover,” and “Hanky Panky,” Tommy James and the Shondells are an American rock group from the late 1960s, the glory days of rock n’ roll. Now entering his fifth decade as an active singer- songwriter, Tommy James still tours with the group that made him a star. The air at the Fair will be filled with the sounds of pop culture classics that will thrill Fairgoers young and old.

Former Journey Lead Vocalist Steve Augeri

Former Journey lead vocalist Steve Augeri closes out the Fair on Saturday, July 27th. Fairgoers will enjoy the famous songs and Steve’s energetic performance and incredible vocal talent. Don’t miss this show on the last night of the Fair!
