The Ice Cream Smuggler is a great ice cream shop  on Route 6A in the heart of historic Dennis Village and many consider it to be the Best ice cream on Cape Cod. It features 27 ice cream flavors plus sugar-free varieties, four kinds of frozen yogurt, sherbets and sorbets. Have your ice cream in a chocolate-dipped waffle cone or go all out with a brownie sundae. Standout flavors include apple pie with spiced apples and cinnamon, chocolate peanut butter, ginger ice cream and peppermint stick.

 

TripAdvisor ranked Ice Cream Smuggler in Dennis among the top 10 ice cream shops in the entire country based on the reviews and opinions of TripAdvisor travelers.  They have also won many other awards as the Best Ice cream shop on the Cape.

 

They have  homemade ice cream cakes consist of a layer of chocolate cake, hot fudge, chocolate cookie crumbles and then the ice cream on top.  They are frosted with fresh whipped cream and decorated with whipped cream, hot fudge and candies.  The cake comes in one size and it serves 10-12 people.

Plus they have homemade fudge bottom pies  are made with an Oreo pie shell, a layer of hot fudge and then filled with ice cream.  The pie is also frosted with fresh whipped cream and decorated with whipped cream, hot fudge and candies. The pie comes in one size and it serves 6-8 people.

The Salty Caramel is INCREDIBLE!

I’ve been going to the Smugglers since the mid ’80s. To this day, I’m 39 years old now. The place still looks (inside & out) the same and smells the same on the inside. The cone with the like 100 scoops on the support pillar has aged well LOL!

I had the chocolate waffle cone, a must. I thought, I need to change up the flavors tonight. So I had two scoops of the Raspberry French Truffle. Holy yumminess. I’ve been doing 2 scoops of cookies and cream since 1986! Raspberry French Truffle will be my new flavor for the next 29 years.

Simply great homemade ice cream. A must stop at place when in Dennis, MA.
Plenty of parking and generous scoops make it a perfect place for your favorite flavor.

The ice cream smuggler is always the way to go! You can’t go to cape cod with out a smuggler sundae! We recommend ALL of the flavored, but our favorites are cookie dough, grasshopper, peppermint, and coffee!

As good as it gets on Cape Cod…fresh homemade ice cream, really sweet girls working the counter, an old home sort of feel..right smack dab in historic Dennis center..a must do in the Mid Cape .
