Day 334 Cranberry Blossom Festival 2014 in Wareham MA

The A.D. Makepeace Company will host the second annual Cranberry Blossom Festival on Saturday, June 28, featuring a grower-guided tour of cranberry bogs in bloom and much more.

The Cranberry Blossom Festival is a unique opportunity for locals and visitors to view the beauty of the bogs during one of the most picturesque and important times of year. This agricultural experience covers the history of cranberry industry, the importance of pollination, a discussion of what the plant needs during each season, and allows for plenty of photographs and discussion. Other activities will be offered during the event include a self-guided nature walk, a selection of local crafters and food vendors, wagon rides, complimentary face painting by Art on the Spot, and an agriculturally inspired scavenger hunt.  Children will receive a “blossom bag” filled with educational and inspirational materials.

The annual “Make it Better with Cranberries” cookbook release ceremony will take place at noon. Cookbook publishers Edward and Yolanda Lodi from Rock Village Publishing will be on hand to present authors with the copy of the 2014 cookbook.  Stop by to take a look at the new book and hear how the cranberry inspired such delicious recipes!

The Cranberry Blossom Festival will be held on Saturday, June 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rosebrook Business Park and the adjacent Cranberry Bogs, 100 Rosebrook Way, Wareham.  Admission is $5 per person, those under 7 are free, and parking is free.
