Bistro on Main is the latest incarnation of local restaurateur Steve Vining. Steve has been bringing together great food, fine wine and good friends on Cape Cod for longer than he cares to remember. The bistro’s chef and veteran team work hard to bring you seasonably minded, locally sourced, internationally inspired fine food and drink presented in a comfortable casual atmosphere. 

After twenty-three years and several expansions, Bistro on Main finally moved downstairs to an all-new location with roomy patio and the Cape’s only full service raw bar, specialty cocktail, Martinis and craft beer lounge.

We love this place! Could sit at the bar all night and eat that shrimp! The bartender makes the best spicy margaritas too! Can’t wait to go back next summer!

Atmosphere, service, food and being in downtown Chatham just adds to the magic! Make reservations for the dining room or go into the raw bar! Either one you can’t lose! Looking forward to next summer and get to enjoy their outside patio.

Great atmosphere and waitstaff. We have enjoyed the Raw Bar Happy Hour. the Chatham oysters are a favorite. Fish Tacos are also excellent.

Our favorite place to eat in Chatham! The food is excellent, the staff is suburb and the atmosphere is wonderful!! Can’t wait to get back to Chatham in the spring so we can do our weekly visit!!!!

Fresh, beautiful food. Flavor that allowed for the seafood to be the star. Great service, location, and selection.

Best meal I have had at the Cape this week with exceptional service.

Fabulous food! Sat at the bar tonight and had appetizers-shrimp, calamari and spring rolls. Absolutely amazing! Incredible bread pudding with cranberries too. Awesome service!

Extremely nice staff – welcoming to us and our small dogs (on the patio).  Offered blankets etc as it got chilly in the shade… We only had Oysters and apps ( calamari & the lobster quesadillas ) all were wonderful!   Great experience – especially with the idea of a quick app and drink in mind.

Our favorite Chatham restaurant during a three day stay, we visited during Restaurant Week and were able to take advantage of more reasonably priced menu options. My Portuguese Scrod was an excellent choice and a dish that I wish I could have again. Wonderfully fresh and mild fish was complemented by a flavorful broth and deliciously fresh vegetables all served on rice with ground chorizo. My clam fritters were my least favorite part of the meal but the apple tarte tatin was absolutely delicious.  Service was friendly, prompt and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed this pleasant restaurant.

Anyhow, it was so good, and so worth it!! Bartender hooked us up, service was excellent, and the ambiance was just right. Hubby and I split the raw bar “Shore Road” and it did not disappoint. Our mansion stacked platters of raw bar were superb. Dessert and soups were wonderful. Whomever got the raw bar menu together for this really knew their audience.  We will be back!!
