Chatham History Weekend 2018
Chatham History weekend will be held Friday, June 15, 2018 to Sunday, June 17, 2018.
During History Weekend, most Historic Chatham museums and history centers will be open (at different times and days).

| Atwood House & Museum | The Atwood House will be open with new exhibits from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, on Friday, June 15th, and Saturday, June 16. On Sunday, June 17th, at 2 PM, the At The Atwood Lecture Series will present “Close Encounters of the Ocean Kind: A Photographic Journey”. |
| Eldredge Public Library | The Library will be open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Friday and Saturday, June 15th and 16th. On Thursday June 14th at 7PM, EPL will present a History Weekend lecture “French Explorer Champlain and the Great Chatham Misadventure of 1606”. |
| Marconi-RCA Wireless Museum | The museum of the Chatham Marconi Maritime Center will be open with new exhibits from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm, on Friday, June 15th, and Saturday, June 16, and from 1 to 4 pm on Sunday, June 17th. This season’s new special exhibit for 2018 is “Chatham Heard Around the World”, and updated exhibits will be on display across both buildings and the outdoor Antenna Field Trail. |
| Caleb Nickerson Homestead | The Caleb Nickerson Homestead will be open on Saturday, June 16th from 10 AM to 4 PM, with an archaeological dig and talk, plus tours and demonstrations. |
| Chatham Windmill | The Chatham Windmill will be open, with tours available, for History Weekend on Saturday, June 16th from 11 AM to 3 PM. Weather permitting, the sails will be up and the mill will be grinding corn. Colonel Godfrey will be distributing his corn bread. Great area for children and picnics. |
| Chatham Lighthouse | The Chatham Lighthouse will be open for tours on Saturday, June 16, and Sunday, June 17, from 1:00 – 3:30 PM on both days, as part of Chatham History Weekend. It will also be open for tours in June as part of its regular Wednesday afternoon schedule, on June 6th and June 20th, from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM. |
| Chatham Railroad Museum | The Railroad Museum will be open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Friday and Saturday, June 15th and 16th. |
| Mayo House | The Mayo House will be open from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 16th. |
| Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge | The Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center will be open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 15th, 16th and 17th. The trails are open dawn to dusk. Visitors may enjoy self-guided walks or tours from volunteer or staff available upon request. A special Monomoy Point Lighthouse Tour will be conducted on Sunday from 9AM to 1:30 PM. |
| Chatham Walks | There will be a special free “Walking Tour” on Saturday, June 16th, at 10 AM, starting at the Chatham Community Center. |
| Note: Admission | Special admission prices during History Weekend at The Atwood House & Museum, and The Marconi-RCA Wireless Museum (see below). For the other Historic Chatham locations, admission is always free. Donations are welcome at many of the locations. |
History Weekend Shuttle Van – NEW
Hop On & Off at any of the Historic Chatham stops
Saturday, June 16, 10 AM to 4 PM
Hop on a shuttle to visit Historic Chatham’s museums and Historic Sites on Saturday of History Weekend. Look for the History Weekend 14-passenger shuttle van making the circuit of Chatham’s historic sites. The Van is generously provided by Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge.
