Wareham Oyster Festival 2024

The  8th  annual Wareham Oyster Festival will be held on Sunday  May 26th 2024   over Memorial Day weekend. The free festival runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Main Street, which will be closed to vehicular traffic  during that time Celebration of music, crafts, food, and of course some of the best shellfish on the east coast.

Some 20 food vendors will offer a variety of fare, with the focus on shellfish. Attendees can try oysters from three different farms in Wareham and from throughout Cape Cod, Buzzards Bay, and Rhode Island.

Sample raw oysters from Cuttyhunk Shellfish Farms, Edgewater Oyster, Matunuck Oyster Bar, and of course Indian Cove Aquaculture. Mumma Marys Italian Cafe will be offering Italian Oyster Stew, and Ella’s Wood Burning Oven Restaurant will have baked oysters from their cool mobile woodburning oven. Kevin’s Kitchen will fry them, and Cafe Soleil Wareham will put them in shooters! Woohoo!

There will be plenty of non-seafood options, from burgers and dogs to homemade cookies and ice cream specialties. Those over 21 can partake of local beer and wine: Mayflower Brewery from Plymouth and Wareham’s own Lucky Goat Brewery will have beer for sale, and wine, soda and water will be available as well.

Enjoy live music throughout the day!

 

More than 60 craft vendors and artisans will be on hand with a variety of handcrafted items and other goods.

Parking
A free shuttle will whisk visitors from the Town Hall parking lot (54 Marion Road — that’s Route 6) to the festival site and back, running a continuous loop throughout the day. It’s about four blocks from that parking area to the festival site.

Getting Here
Wareham is easily accessible via I-195 from the west (take Exit 21 and go south on Route 28), I-495 from the north or east (take Exit 1 to I-195 and get off immediately at the Route 28 exit) or Route 25 from Cape Cod (take Exit 2 and bear right onto Glen Charlie Road, then bear right onto Route 6 and continue to downtown Wareham). Plug “200 Main Street, Wareham” into your GPS and it should take you right to our information tent, where you can buy yourself a snappy new Wareham Oyster Festival hat!
