Hyannis Main Street Business Improvement District, Hyannis Film Festival and Love Live Local will be hosting , drive-in movies will return to the Cape’s commercial hub in July and August.

Drive-in movies are coming to Main Street! On six consecutive Friday nights beginning July 3 at a parking lot at the corner of Main Street and High School Road, family friendly movies will be featured on an inflatable screen. The lot will be configured to accommodate about 50 vehicles spaced appropriately for social distancing. Sound will be transmitted through car radios.

Admission will be $20 per vehicle. Those attending are encouraged to order food — for pickup or delivery to their cars — from downtown restaurants. There will be additional entertainment including a disc jockey and musical performances.

Tickets go on sale today at every Monday at 12:30  for the Friday’s show   Since seats are limited, this was a fair way to make sure everyone gets an opportunity to purchase tickets throughout the summer.

Proceeds from the first three weeks will benefit the Cape Cod Resilience Fund, and proceeds from the last three weeks will benefit the Hyannis Film Festival.

There will be no refunds or return scheduling of tickets in case of a cancelled showing for weather or other reasons. We thank you for your contribution to help bring summer entertainment to downtown Hyannis.

• No pets. No alcohol. Please bring food and beverages or order from a nearby restaurant for pickup before arriving or by foot before the movie starts.

• Movie and pre-show sound will be delivered via an available FM band to be determined and announced that night. Listen through your car radio, on an FM radio, or with a radio listening app on your cell phone. Car engines must remain off throughout the film. Please remain in your car if possible, with volume controlled to not disturb others.

• All state guidelines for safe physical distancing of moviegoers will be followed. Hyannis Police and Fire Department personnel will be on site to help ensure compliance.

• No large pickup trucks, vans, nor SUVs. Vehicle height limit is 78″, similar to that of commercial parking garages. Open hatchback lifts must be tied or bungied down to roof height on the vehicle. Please check your vehicle height before arriving. Vehicles past the height limit may be turned away.

• Cars will be parked in the order they arrive, but Movies on Main will make the final decision on where the vehicle is placed. Taller vehicles will be parked in rear most rows.
