Celebrate Our Waters Festival 2021 in Orleans MA

Celebrate Our Waters Festival will be held the weekend of Sunday September 18th and  Saturday September  19th at various location throughout Orleans.   this weekend is to showcase the area’s precious bays, ponds, lakes, marshes, creeks and beaches and thereby increase general awareness and appreciation of our valuable water resources. The event was originally conceived of as simply a few guided walks highlighting Orleans’ ponds and saltwater estuaries but it quickly mushroomed into a two day festival including walks, bike rides, talks, tours, kayak trips, cat boat sailing, aquaculture events, a sand sculpture contest and a bonfire on Nauset Beach.

About
Orleans Pond Coalition, Inc. is a volunteer organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the saltwater estuaries and freshwater ponds and lakes of Orleans.

Our work includes offering educational programs to encourage mindful land use practices, sponsoring water quality research, working with community, regional and state organizations to formulate constructive policies to protect our environment, waterways and livelihoods and informing the public of the status of on-going initiatives. We also present special events such as “Celebrate our Waters” to showcase our natural resources and highlight the need for protective measures for future sustainability.
