First Night Chatham New Year Eve 2023-2024

First Night Chatham is a family-friendly, alcohol-free celebration of the Arts, with entertainment and activities for children and adults all day from noon until the  fireworks celebrated on New Years eve  Sunday   December 31st

They  are a family-friendly, alcohol free, town-wide celebration of the arts with over 70 performances and events.

Children’s buttons (ages 3-11) are $5.00
Children 2 and under: Free

The First Night Chatham button is required for admission to almost all indoor performances and activities. Most outdoor activities, and a few indoor activities, are button-free.

Please note that all sales are final. There are no exchanges or refunds. Admission is not guaranteed, due to capacity limits.

Brewster Bayside Skippers
Our goal is to bring more attention to the incredible sport of Jump Rope! We will provide demonstrations of various events that the team competes in, and we will be doing some group routines where everyone works together to achieve the same goal. Anyone and everyone can jump rope, and audiences will be invited to participate at the end of each session!

Bubble Wrap Stomp
A favorite activity of many parents, too! Watch the kids show joy as they break the bubbles and make lots of noise!

From 1PM until there’s no more bubble wrap to stomp.

Carnival Caper
A costumed road race, from the Chatham Squire to the Lighthouse and back, sponsored by the Chatham Squire. Register outside the Squire starting at 2 pm ($10); Costume judging at 2:30 pm; the race starts at 3 pm (a bit under 2 miles round-trip). You can’t miss the gorilla in charge. Race registrants get a Tee shirt, and beef stew served at the Squire after the race! Spectators line Main Street to cheer on everyone parading down the road in costume – you can run, you can walk, you can hop, skip or jump!

Cirque du Jour
Cirque du Jour is proud to once again bring top notch circus artists to First Night Chatham. They will dazzle and delight with traditional circus artistry that will include hand balancing, juggling, aerial displays, and those fun and funny purveyors of comedy. This year GiGi brings her friends Slappy (Tiffany Riley) & Monday (Dick Monday) to share center ring with her. Their brand of silly has been seen at the Big Apple Circus (where Tiffany was the first female featured clown) and beyond. Three performances this year.

Face Painting
What child does not enjoy having something fabulous painted on their face?

Miniature Golf
A full 9 holes at the Community Center Gym – 1 to 5:45PM. Who does not love mini-golf, especially in December!

Noise Parade
Join the raucous fray! Make noise any way you want.

A police escort leads the parade and no one will be cited for too much noise. Great fun for kids and adults, who often wear silly hats. Start at the corner of Cross and Main at 6 pm, walk to rotary, then continue on to the Chatham Community Center to see the fireworks at Veterans Field!

Trevor Pearson
Trevor Pearson’s interactive juggling show combines hilarious antics and visually spectacular, award-winning juggling skills with a message of self-empowerment. Fun for all ages! Trevor grew up in Brewster and it was there that he learned to juggle as a teen. He’s been juggling professionally for over 15 years, performing and instructing throughout New England, and beyond. Trevor has been inspiring and amusing First Night Chatham audiences for over a decade with the juggling of clubs, rings, balls, boxes, plates, hats, rubber chickens and audience-suggested objects to boot. He might even juggle boots!

Rock N Roll Racing
Rock N Roll Racing is a mini-Nascar race track where you drive a car from the side with a steering wheel and throttle.

Toe Jam Puppet Band
The Toe Jam Puppet Band performances are very active, encouraging kids and parents to sing and dance along with the band as they entertain with a unique combination of original songs, masterful shadow puppetry, storytelling and just plain old good fun.

Mr. Vinny the Bubble Guy
Using giant homemade bubble wands, a sound system full of music, and a lot of funny family entertainment experience, Mr. Vinny get kids and adults involved in bubble chasing games. The program is all about big beautiful bubbles, running-around, and . . . having FUN! Truly best for all ages.
