First Night in Sandwich New Years Eve 2019-20

First Night Sandwich 2020, Sandwich Village “Town of Giants” will celebrate its annual event on Tuesday , December 31, from 4 to 9 pm. 

 

his community celebration of music, art, and dance is open to all who wish to enjoy an eclectic evening of holiday fun.

There will be ice sculptures, lighted giants in the village and along Route 6A, children’s crafts, an enchanting fairy garden, food vendors, storytellers and jugglers.

At 8pm there will a Revelers Parade, followed by the Grand Finale Countdown, and fireworks. over the pond.

Buttons will be 10 dollars in advance, 12 dollars at the door.

Atwater and Donnelly

Every performance is surprisingly different and always entertaining, exciting educational with the award winning duo Atwater-Donnelly, who provide a unique thrilling blend of traditional American and Celtic folk music and dance, along with song and poetry.

The Highly praised husband-wife duo blends gorgeous vocals with and astounding array of instruments including the mountain dulcimer, old time banjo, tin whistle, guitar, mandolin, harmonica, limberhjacks feet and more. 4:00-5:30 St. Johns

Boubacar Mamadou

MAMADOU is a world-class ensemble showcasing the original musical works of Senegalese luminary Mamadou Diop.

Having shared the stage and collaborated with countless African greats including Baaba Maal, Mamadou Jimi Mbaye and Mbaye Dieye Faye in the Madison Band (formerly of Youssou Ndour), Thione Seck, Nicolas Menheim and Papa Seck in the band Africando, the Grand Soda Mama, and many others, Mamadou introduced his signature rhythm guitar sound around the world.

Mamadou Diop has had opportunities to connect with influential giants including James Brown, the Jackson Five with Michael Jackson, Nelson Mandela – all personal inspirations for his art.

Dan Kennedy

Whispering and Enlightened Piano Radio Pianist Dan Kennedy has performed throughout New England and across the country. Classically trained at Oberlin Conservatory and the New England Conservatory of Music Dan has been featured on Audiosyncracy, MainlyPiano.com, Pandora, and more. He has been heard on over 250 radio stations internationally. His fourth solo album Mountains Made of Shadow, Anthems Made of Light was officially released on March 2, 2018. You will find Dan in the Sanctuary at First Church from 5-6:30

Thatcher Drake

New to First Night Sandwich but well known to the artistic community Thatcher is a musical talent who should not be missed. Thatcher will be the opening act a First Church, be sure to come enjoy his talent. First Church from 4-5pm

The Familiars
